?People have many misconceptions about meditation. No wonder very few people are actually interested in it.?
 
1. Meditation is boring
Only initially. Just like most other things that are good for you! Some things take time to enjoy. If you practice meditation under the right conditions and with the right preparation you'll be surprised at how enjoyable it can be. In fact most of us don't realize that going on a vacation and just sitting on the beach doing nothing but watching the waves is nothing but meditation. In the west people go to the beach and sit for hours sunbathing or lying down. Some people go to the mountains. It's all the same thing. Meditation by any other name is still meditation. It's a vacation from your mind. But the beauty of meditation is that you can do it anywhere, anytime. You can have a vacation right now, sitting right here. That's meditation.
 
2. You should practice meditation once you get older
On the other hand, the earlier you start the more your system is benefitted by it. When you are younger you have more energy for everything - for work, for leisure, for love, for adventure? anything. The same is true for meditation. it requires energy, attention, some will power. If you can start meditation from an early age it will have a whole different kind of impact on you and your life. Yoga and meditation work much better on younger people as they are fresh, energetic and have accumulated less garbage in their heads. The younger you are the easier it is to enjoy meditation (though starting trouble may be higher as you are more distracted when you are younger). The opposite is true for older people. They will find the practice easier but boredom and lethargy can set in easily.
 
3. Meditation is for peace of mind
