Join Bharat Thakur’s Artistic Yoga!
About Our Company
Bharat Thakur's Artistic Yoga is the leading Yoga company in India. The brainchild of HImalayan Master Bharat Thakur, Artistic Yoga was developed in 1999 when Bharat saw that the Yoga being taught and practiced all over the world and in India was in no way as powerful, dynamic and immediate as authentic Yoga could be. If Yoga in India suffered from a drab and monotonous classical tradition that had lost its freshness and spontaneity, then Yoga in the west was being trivialized with the many offshoots, new brands and fusion forms in which the true spirit of Yoga was lost to a false spirituality consisting of chanting, incense sticks and imaginary visualizations.
Bharat Thakur started the company with the vision of spreading a form of Yoga that would help people first get in shape, become disease-free and then move towards the higher practices akin to Patanjali's Ashthanga Yog. Artistic Yoga has centers in New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Dubai and Moscow. Within the year we plan to open centers in Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Johannesburg, and France.
The Teachers
Many of our teachers have been at the top of their fields when they discovered Artistic Yoga and decided to leave their corporate careers for a life in Yoga. Others have completed their Graduate and Undergraduate degrees in Yoga from premier institutes in India and Abroad. Bharat Thakur has been an inspiration to all of them, both in his in-depth knowledge and also in his uncompromising attitude towards spirituality, meditation and Yoga. His individual attention to all the teachers along with a guidance that can be best described as 'uncannily perfect' always leads to growth at the highest level.
To work closely with a living Himalayan Master is to tap into an ocean of wisdom and experience that comes from 14 years of spiritual practice in the Himalayas. As the saying goes, teachers explain with words, and masters teach with experiences and situations. Bharat Thakur is one such Master, who uses words, life and Yoga in equal measure to ensure that a teacher reaches his or her highest potential.
The Teacher Training Program
Our teacher training program at Bharat Thakur's Artistic Yoga is a one of a kind program where Yoga is taught not only as a practice and a theory but as a living and breathing science. Students are taught the fundamentals of Yoga before they learn the teaching methods, modules and styles employed specifically in Artistic Yoga. Bharat Thakur's unique and powerful system of Yoga allows students to apply their knowledge creatively maintaining their unique teaching style and yet keep the core technique in accordance with the essential principles of Artistic Yoga.
Following the ancient tradition of Indian Gurus, Bharat Thakur’s centers all over India and the world function as a modern-day Gurukuls dedicated to the purpose of Yogic learning. Students are initially trained by senior Artistic Yoga Teachers before they can learn from Bharat Thakur himself. Classes, workshops, training sessions, individual guidance and retreats conducted by a variety of senior teachers help students to imbibe and assimilate Artistic Yoga and its many components.
A student will be placed in one of our centers which will be best suited to his/her growth as a teacher. He/she may be required to train in more than one city so that he/she is well rounded as a person and as an Artistic Yoga teacher.

5. Modern Exercise Physiology
6. Teaching Skills Workshops and Soft Skills, including verbal communication skills.

After undergoing the Teacher Training Program, trainees may be placed in different Artistic Yoga centers around the world where they will embark on working-internships with senior Artistic Yoga Teachers. This is a full-time position and the salary structure will depend on performance, location, responsibilities and leadership qualities demonstrated by the teacher.

“My whole life was full of every creative expression I could think of. Colours, words, forms ~ it was a high. When I met Bharat Thakur and discovered Artistic Yoga, I felt a rare and deep affinity for a life where you actually connect with people in a significant way; a way that changes their life and thereby, your own. To have a man walk upto me and say that the back ache he lived with for fifteen years has gone. Or a woman, who came to my class with acute depression and severe obesity who now is not just slim but radiant; there is a joy one cannot express in words, when you transform others. It transforms and expands you.” Uma Gautam
Uma Gautam worked in Titan as a watch designer for 3 years and was sent to New York as part of the assignment. Subsequently, she left Titan to start a design firm of her own where she worked on design projects for Levi’s, Motorola, Compaq & Brooke Bond etc in the areas of graphic, retail as well as store design. After 3 years, she decided to move from Design to Art and took up a small studio where she painted. An established painter, she has done 8 solo shows and 17 group shows, many of which were organised by the Harmony Show (by invitation & curated by Tina Ambani – Reliance industries). “Working with Bharat Thakur is challenging because you have to be the best in the field. After working here for the last 3-4 years, many of my dreams have come true! Men’s Health Magazine put me on the cover of the January 2010 issue because many people think Yoga is slow and only good for curing diseases. I achieved the task of having a six-pack (abs) with just yoga and a vegetarian diet. I now write a regular column for Mail Today and many leading newspapers. I enjoy every moment of my life and could not have wished for a better job. I look forward to more challenges and surprises!” Dinesh Dagar
Dinesh Dagar decided halfway through his undergraduate degree in Commerce that fitness was his real passion. After exploring the field he realized that Yoga combined fitness and mental strength and focus. He did a yoga course in Bangalore from Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhan Sansthan. And then went to New Delhi and started teaching Yoga. Soon he felt that making a good living was not enough for him. He met Bharat Thakur in 2006 and has been teaching Artistic Yoga ever since.
Dinesh is a Senior Trainer in New Delhi.
